1944-D/S 1C MS66 Red PCGS. OMM-1. Bold remnants of the undermintmark are readily evident north of the D. This is the more desirable of the two known varieties of the 1944-D/S overmintmark. As a date, the 1944-D is the most consistently attractive of the six Lincoln Cent issues delivered in 1944-1945. The present example is bursting with fulsome mint luster that is mostly cherry-red in sheen, although some lighter pink-red shades are noted on the reverse. Sharply struck with frosty textured features and a couple of not overly distracting planchet streaks on the reverse. Both major grading services have certified only 11 1944-D/S Cents at the present level of preservation, and there is only one coin finer at NGC (7/02). Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
