1942 Lincoln Continental Convertible 130 horsepower 292 cid side valve 12-cylinder flathead engine, three-speed manual transmission, coil and leaf sprung suspension and four-wheel drum brakes; wheelbase: 125Ô- It can be argued that Edsel FordÒs greatest contribution to Ford Motor Company is the pre-war Lincoln Continental. Beautifully designed with an elegance and grace afforded to few cars of the time, the Continental was sleek, powerful, and stylish. The V12 powerplant provided brisk acceleration, great cruising comfort, ease of maintenance, and wonderful reliability. The tremendous original example from the Jay Weinberg Collection is being offered without reserve. It is a very honest car carrying a wonderful patina of nearly 70 years of great ownership care and only a reported 69,580 miles from new. Remarkably, it still shows very well for its age. The body is in the original shape with no sign of rust or rust repair anywhere, as is the chrome and trim which only shows minor wear and a similar comfortable look to it.
