KURT JULIAN WEILL (1900–1950). German composer, active from the 1920s, best known for his fruitful collaborations with Bertolt Brecht, such as his best-known work “The Threepenny Opera,” which included the ballad "Mack the Knife."
April 9, 1942-Dated, Partially-Printed Document Signed, "Kurt Weill," 2 pages, 8.5" x 11", Quarto, Choice Extremely Fine. This rare Document being the official ASCAP Registration Form completed for his composition, “Konzert fur Violin & Blasorchester” (Concerto for violin and wind orchestra, op. 12), scored for solo violin with two flutes, two oboes, two clarinets, two bassoons, two trumpets, one trombone, one percussionist and one contrabass. The Printed Document is filled out entirely in Weill's own hand and includes performance locations of the piece. Signed in deep black ink, "Kurt Weill." Staple holes at upper left comer, a couple short edge tears at the top edge; otherwise in very crisp, clean sharp looking condition.
