This is a vintage Boy Scout First Aid Kit by Johnson & Johnson, circa 1942, with the following contents: 1 boxed 1" Red Cross gauze bandage roll (box has been opened but the tissue wrap around the gauze shows it hasn't been used); 1 boxed same, 2" wide (again, box opened but tissue and gauze intact); 2 steripads, in wax paper envelope, unopened; 1 tin roll Curity Wet-Pruf 1/2" adhesive by Bower & Black (near mint conditon but looks like some tape has been used); 1 Picric Acid Gauze Pad in original wax paper wrap (small tear on the wrap); 1 glass bottle Halazone, 12 tablets, for purifying drinking water (full, near mint); 1 plastic applicator bottle Merthiolate Antiseptic, 3/4 oz. (near mint); 1 Johnson & Johnson 1942 first aid booklet; and about 20 bandaids (Curad and MSCo). The two boxes of gauze tape are in near mint condition except that they have been opened. On the inside of the lid is a printed list of the contents, and these items all match with the exception of the antiseptic, which should be 1/8 oz., not 3/4 oz. The kit tin itself is in excellent condition, very clean with bright colors (olive green, kelly green, & red). There are a couple tiny dents/dings on the lid, one small (1/4") spot of rust, and very scant wear along the corners and rim. The latch is very fancy. On the back are two metal brackets/clasps for attaching to a belt. See photos.
