1942 All-American Basketball Game Worn Uniform P
1942 All-American Basketball Game Worn Uniform Package. If your initial reaction is to think of the Harlem Globetrotters, you're to be forgiven, as the patriotic red, white and blue stars and stripes that characterize this scarce uniform style bears much in common with the legendary barnstorming club's apparel. But this is, in actuality, a war-time issue for one of the top collegiate ballplayers of the the day, a young man named Gene Haldeman. Present are the following uniform pieces: 1) Blue knit jersey with satin and tackle twill stars and number "45" identifiers. "Wilson size 38" tagging. 2) Red and white striped satin shorts. "Wilson size 32" tagging inside, with "Gene Haldeman" identifier typed on a second tag. 3) Satin warm-up jacket with felt "All American 1942" patch over heart. "Wilson size 42" label inside collar. 4) Matching warm-up pants. No apparent tagging. 5) Uniform socks. All pieces remain in fantastic, undamaged condition, with light staining at the jacket's armpits the only issue of note. Finally, this lot includes Haldeman's 1942 Amateur Athletic Association membership card, and two snapshots of Haldeman, one of which finds him wearing the warm-up suit featured in this lot. LOA from Lou Lampson.

Shipping: Clothing, Costumes & Jerseys (view shipping information)
