<B>1942 25C One Cent Pattern, Judd-2054, High R.7, MS62 NGC.</B></I> One of the wartime cent experiments in off-metal (and no-metal) composition, struck as an alternative to the copper needed for the war effort. Many similar pieces, all R.7 to R.8, were produced in various compositions, including plastic, glass, Bakelite, rubber, and manganese. The obverse features the female head from the Colombian two centavos, with LIBERTY left, JUSTICE right, date 1942 at bottom. The reverse shows UNITED STATES MINT in center, with a wreath surrounding, struck in medal turn on zinc-coated steel (same apparent composition as the 1943 Lincoln cents).
