1941 Screen Used Miniature Props
1941 Screen Used Miniature Props - Steven Spielberg himself has called his over-the-top "1941" (1979) the noisiest movie ever made! That it was, with an all star cast including Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi and even Toshiro Mifune! It also included some of the greatest (and sadly, because of the onset of CGI, one of the last) full set miniature work ever created for a motion picture. That included the recreation of Hollywood Blvd (the largest full set miniature in film history), and the Santa Monica Pier complete with an entire amusement park (including the infamous runaway Farris Wheel!). These are a few rare pieces of remaining miniatures. They were created by the legendary Greg Jein especially for the sets. They include produce tins, a bottle, a wood "pickle" barrel, metal barrel, cars, as well as a Los Angeles Times stand, along with detailed newspapers, from the Times, the Honolulu Star-Bulletin, a Life Magazine, and a "Shadow" comic book. (Pieces range from approx 0.5"x0.5" to 2.5"x2.5").
