1940's Silver Fleming Spurs, each spur is marked FLEMING on the inside of each shank, 1'' rowel, 1.5'' shank, single mounted, tested 800 silver, heel width 3 3/8'', heavily decorated with silver floral rosettes on one side of each spur, these vintage Fleming spurs are entirely hand engraved and hand forged in the traditional Vaquero style, Richard L. ''Dick'' Fleming was acquainted with the top hands who worked the ranches in central California. These hands were known as Vaqueros. The Vaquero style required authentic bits and spurs from artisans who practiced the old method of making and engraving silver mounted on silver inlaid bits and spurs. The word soon got around with the horsemen that bits and spurs were made with the Fleming mark were made true to Vaquero tradition.
