<B>1940's John Henry Taylor Signed Photograph.</B></I> One-third of the fabled "Great Triumvirate" of the sport of golf, Taylor shared newspaper headlines with Harry Vardon and James Braid in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. During this period he claimed no fewer than five Open Championship victories (known today as The British Open), and founded and chaired the British Professional Golfers' Association. Today he rates as one of the most sought after autographs in the golf collecting hobby, with signed images such as the beauty we present here making many a sophisticated enthusiast's heart flutter. This elegant piece comprised of a 3x4" studio photo affixed to a heavy paper mat is worthy of the finest links collection, with a 9+/10 black fountain pen inscription reading, "Very Sincerely Yours, J.H. Taylor." The tissue paper backing of the photo reveals minimal foxing, but this very minor issue remains the only indicator of the piece's advanced age.
