<B>1940 Ty Cobb Signed Check.</B></I> The Georgia Peach buys a car. Illustrating the tremendous wealth the savvy Dead Ball superstar amassed after his playing days, Cobb writes a check for just short of $2,500 to "Brown Motors Inc.," applying all ink and his closing "Tyrus R. Cobb" signature in the boldest of 10/10 black ink. The bank's stamping and punch coding remains clear of the all-important autograph, and a couple of small fold lines are only apparent upon the closest of inspection.
