<B>1940 Boston Red Sox Team Signed Baseball.</B></I> In 1939, with the arrival of Ted Williams at the gates of Fenway, Major League Baseball would find two future 500 Home Run Club members sharing a dugout for the first time. This boldly autographed orb features splendid signatures from the second and fourth players to reach the mark, with Foxx a bona fide 10/10 and Williams just a point behind. Twenty-nine signatures appear on the OAL (Harridge) ball in total, with all but a few comparable in quality to the iconic Hall of Famers. These include Cronin, Grove, Doerr (light), coach Hugh Duffy, Dom DiMaggio, Cramer and more. A coating of shellac and some scattered surface wear are to be noted, but neither issue causes any significant visual concern.
