<B>1940 Babe Ruth Signed "Academy of Sport" Certificate.</B></I> The trylon and perisphere, celebrated symbols of the most famous World's Fair of them all, factor prominently into the design of this certificate bearing the autograph of another of the twentieth century's most recognizable symbols. A flawless 10/10 black fountain pen autograph from the great Babe Ruth appears along with Clemson football hero Banks McFadden and the Babe's sports agent Christy Walsh, certainly thrilling the young Norman Anderson, who was awarded this document by his instructors. In the interest of full disclosure, we must report that the top edge of the certificate appears to have been trimmed slightly, and the tiny image of a Babe Ruth Sport Kings card at upper right is likewise not original to issue. Neither of these concerns affects the visual strength in the least, however, and the certificate is otherwise entirely free of noteworthy flaws. <I>LOA from PSA/DNA.
