1939 Worlds Fair NY Goodyear Tire Exhibit Framed Art
You are viewing a rare print which we believe was designed for either the 1939 World's Fair in New York City or the 1933-34 World's Fair in Chicago. We speculate that this may have been a concept drawing for a Goodyear Pavilion. The country's most avant-garde architects and designers competed with one another, with hopes that their designs would be realized. Art Deco pavilions constructed in stucco and mesh were meant to last only a season, and evaporate after the Fair's summer production. Some of the greatest structures never made it past the drawing board.

This image epitomizes cultural fusion &mdash it includes a backdrop of Islamic architecture along with linear sketches of either an Indian or Middle-Eastern culture. It was once an original painting, which has been transformed into a serigraph series.
