1939-S 50C Arkansas MS67 PCGS. Ex: JFS Collection. A band of ruby-red, navy-blue, and gold patina hugs the upper left reverse, although the undisturbed surfaces are mostly cream-gray with occasional freckles of tan patina. The popularity of silver commemoratives crested in the mid-1930s, and by 1939, the speculative fever had largely abated. Still, Congress had had enough, and the Act of August 5, 1939 sealed the door on the classic commemorative series until 1946. Only 2,100 PDS sets were issued, along with a few stray pieces destined for assay. This is one of just four Superb Gems graded by PCGS, with none finer. Population: 4 in 67, 0 finer (11/07).

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
