1939-S 10C MS66 Full Bands PCGS. Among the more conditionally scarce issues in the 1934-1945 Mercury
1939-S 10C MS66 Full Bands PCGS. Among the more conditionally scarce issues in the 1934-1945 Mercury Dime series, the 1939-S is particularly difficult to locate as a fully struck Gem. This is somewhat surprising given the respectable original mintage of 10.5 million coins. Nevertheless, the present representative is certainly among the finest coins certified. Untoned and exceptionally smooth, both sides display a lustrous, silver-white sheen. The fields are striated (as produced, and suggestive of die polishing), but two wispy luster grazes in the right obverse field are the only post-production features of note. From the Jay Eisenberg Collection.
