1939 P.M Pascal Kelly Bros. Bronze Mounted Spurs
For your consideration is this 1939 P.M. Pascal Kelly Bros tooled bronze plate mounted spurs. P.M Kelly (Pascal Moreland) was born in Texas in 1886 and had a long career making bits and spurs starting at the age of 17 in an effort to help make money for his family. He opened his own blacksmith shop which he ran for a few years before going to work for McChesney in 1910 in Pauls Valley, and then splitting off with Tom Johnson in 1911 to start their own partnership in Dalhart, which didn't last long as Johnson wasn't fond of using machines to speed up the production process like Kelly was. The spurs show an iconic Texas style spur design with bronze plating on the outside frame of the spurs with tooled floral design adorning the plating. The makers mark is seen on inside of spur frame just behind the spur strap buttons. The condition of this pair of spurs is good with a slight patina to the frame of the spurs and adorning the rowels of the spurs. The measurements of this pair of spurs is 2" x 4" x 6".
