1939 Honus Wagner Signed Hall of Fame First Day Cover. Marvelous 10/10 blue ink signature from the great Pittsburgh Pirates shortstop and coverboy for the hobby's most coveted trading card is made all the more appealing by the fact that it dates to the Opening Day of the Hall of Fame. We are assured of this fact not only by the Cooperstown, NY postmark of June 12, 1939, but also by the signature of James Farley that joins Wagner's. Farley was Postmaster General under President Franklin Roosevelt, and was on hand at the Hall of Fame inauguration to debut the stamp that appears at upper right. The glue that was used to manufacture the envelope has toned slightly, but this does not encroach upon the autographs, nor does it diminish the fine appearance of the otherwise pristine mailer. LOA from PSA/DNA.
