1938-S 25C MS67 NGC. One of the better known examples of this early date Washington Quarter, with crispness to the detail and nicely silvered surfaces. There was only one tiny contact mark found, under close scrutiny with a magnifying glass, on Washington's cheek. There are some russet hints along the upper rims, and light patina elsewhere, most of it in the upper reverse area. There are some short, wispy lines near the base of Washington's portrait, and among the numerals of the date, which are "as struck" die striations, and an interesting die crack, also made during the striking process, which extends from the left edge of the Q in QUARTER, upward to the mid-left edge of the eagle's right wing. A marvelous Superb Gem. Population: 29 in 67, 1 finer (2/03). Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. On occasion eBay live bid software cannot keep up with the pace of the auctions where 4-5 lots per minute can hammer down, so we recommend that you place a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
