<B>1938 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball.</B></I> Two weeks before the Yanks would meet the Boston Red Sox on Opening Day at Fenway, a fan at spring training caught up with eighteen members of the pinstriped crew, presenting this ONL (Frick) ball for signing. Though a few of the names never became part of the Yankee roster that year, others are immortalized in Bronx lore, notably Gehrig (5/10), Gomez (7/10), McCarthy (8/10), Ruffing (7/10), Dahlgren (7/10) and Crosetti (6/10). The balance of autographs average a very consistent 7/10, with only a single offering testing legibility. The ball is lightly and evenly toned throughout, with "Yankees 4-4-38" inked over the National League stamping in an unknown hand. A fine opportunity to acquire a stable of Yankees legends.
