1938-D/S 5C MS67 PCGS. OMM-2, the curve of the S
1938-D/S<5C> MS67 PCGS. OMM-2, the curve of the S mintmark is obvious within the interior of the D mintmark. The introduction of the Jefferson Nickel in 1938 made the Buffalo Nickel design obsolete, and the type was only struck in Denver that year. As an economy measure, leftover S-mint dies of the type were overmintmarked and put to use. This lustrous and gorgeously preserved Superb Gem has an above average strike and exhibits tints of chestnut color.
