1938-D 50C MS65 PCGS. This issue had a relatively low mintage of 491,600 pieces. Survivors are not rare at the Gem level of preservation, but they do become scarce any finer. Boldly struck overall, if typically weak on Liberty's branch hand and the eagle's right (facing) leg. Faint sky-blue accents are seen on the obverse. A few tiny spots and contact marks preclude an even finer grade designation.
From The Mario Eller Collection, Part Two.

Coin Engraver: Adolph A.
