1937-D 5C Three-Legged MS63 NGC. FS-020.2. Delicate champagne-gold patina rests on the highly lustrous surfaces of this popular variety in the Buffalo nickel series. An impressive strike left strong definition on the design features, and a few light marks concealed within the central devices do not detract. David Bowers (2007) presents some historical background for the issue: "In the 1950s, nearly al coins in the marketplace were in grades such as Very Fine and Extremely Fine. ... Many hundreds of Mint Sate coins exist today. I have no idea where all of these came from. ... Perhaps a bunch of rolls turned up that included examples from this particular die."

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
