1937-D 50C MS67 PCGS. The 1937-D is the most difficult of the three 1937-dated Walking Liberty Halves to locate in Mint State. Just 1.7 million coins were delivered, a modest total for a Walker from the late 1930s. With no coins certified finer at PCGS, the present Superb Gem should be of obvious importance to Registry Set collectors. This wonderfully original coin displays soft tan and olive colored target toning around a brilliant-white center on the obverse. There are also whispers of crimson-russet patina toward the rims, a color that is seen at the upper left reverse as well. The balance of that side is brilliant, and both sides are richly endowed with mint frost. A nicely defined coin with a single mentionable graze in the left obverse field and a couple of ticks in the right obverse field. Population: 21 in 67, 0 finer (7/02).From the Hans Poetsch Collection. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour.
