1937 Cord 812 Beverly Sedan 289 cid V8 engine rated at 125 horsepower, front wheel drive, four-speed electronic pre-selector manual transmission, independent front suspension with rear semi-elliptic leaf springs, four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes; wheelbase: 125"-Designed by Gordon M. Buehrig, the "coffin-nosed" 810/812 Cord of 1936 and 1937 was a styling and engineering marvel decades ahead of its time. Although development was done somewhat hastily, and on a strict, Depression-era budget, the shape was very advanced for the era. Its streamlined styling, pontoon fenders without running boards, pop-up headlights, chiseled Crocodile like hood, and very advanced drivelineÅa Lycoming-built, 288.6 cubic inch V8 making 125 horsepower, fed through a four-speed transaxle with front-wheel driveÅmade it a standout among virtually every other car on the road. Presented in ivory with maroon leather interior, this 812 Beverly has stood the test of time. Unlike most 1937 Cords, this example is one of few non-supercharged models with the more streamlined front. It is a very nice driver with recent mechanical and cosmetic
