1937 50C Antietam MS68 NGC. CAC. The Battle of Antietam (or Sharpsburg, as it was commonly called in the South), fought on Sept. 17, 1862, was the "bloodiest day of the Civil War," with almost 23,000 dead and wounded. The 1937 Antietam half dollar commemorates the 75th anniversary of that battle. This essentially pristine and beautifully toned example offers deep cherry-red, amber-gold, mint-green, and maroon patina dispersed on both sides. Census: 17 in 68, 2 finer (3/08).
From The Good Humor Collection.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
