<B>1936 SET Columbia PDS Set MS64 to MS65 PCGS.</B></I> The set includes: <B>1936 MS65; 1936-D MS65;</B></I> and a <B>1936-S MS64.</B></I> All three coins are tab-toned with nearly identical mottled sea-green, peach, and ruby-red patina. The original three-slot holder that held these coins for 50 years accompanies the lot. These three coins were part of a time capsule sealed in 1936 by the Columbia Sesqui-Centennial Commission. The time capsule was opened in 1986, Columbia's bicentennial.<BR>Other documents associated with the time capsule are also included, such as copies of the minutes of a Sept. 16, 1936 meeting of the Columbia Sesqui-Centennial Commission discussing the commemorative coins; copies of a letter from James H. Hammond, Lawyer, to the "Chairman of the Bycentennial (sic) Cellebration (sic);" an empty envelope from the Columbia Sesqui-Centennial commission addressed to the Bi-Centennial Commission; copies of various correspondence concerning congressional authorization of the Columbia halves; two signed letters from John W. Flitter of the Columbia Bicentennial Committee concerning a time capsule lot of Columbia halves and a 1936 Sesquicentennial wooden nickel issue; and (6) Columbia, S.C.
