<B>1936-S 50C Arkansas MS67 PCGS.</B></I> Ex: JFS Collection. While the event celebrated was worthy, at least by the standards of previous silver commemoratives, the array of dates and mintmarks was not; Q. David Bowers (1991) noted that if the Arkansas centennial had been the only reason for celebration, coinage began a year early and ended three years too late! A rich coating of dappled olive, russet, and crimson patina blankets the obverse, while the reverse remains essentially untoned.
