Offically designated by Lincoln Motor car company as a 1936 Model K,this was originally a Limousine seden. The model K production of the V-12 Lincoln which began in 1931 and continued until 1942. They were One (1) of the finest luxury auotmobiles built in America at the time. At some point it appears Mr. Hughes radically modified the body style on this particular Lincoln. Built to carry movie equipment and possible use as a camera car, the entire back portion was reconstructed from lightweight aircraft aluminum, which was not readily available at the time.This Lincoln is built on the 145" wheel base chassis,Utilizes the production 12 cylinder motor of 414c.i displacement and produces approx. 150 HP. Close inspection indicates this engine has been owner modified to produce additional HP. The attachment of this vehicle to a legendary, wealthy, American eccentric who was associated with the aviation industry as well as the film industry in the 1930s appears very strong. The 1930 Lincoln V-12 Model K (Automobile) has become extermely valuable as a result of the association with Mr. Howard Hughes.During the restoration of this very unique vehicle a number of paper documents were uncovered which a connection to Mr. Howard Hughes. Most importantly, a very early "credit card" was located behind the grove box.
