<B>1936-D 50C Columbia MS68 NGC.</B></I> The Columbia issues of 1936 were one of several low-mintage sets designed to feed the speculative commemorative market, with production of just 8,000 pieces per mint plus assay coins. Deep russet-gold toning is noted at the periphery, as is paler lavender-champagne patina at the centers. The immensely lustrous surfaces display exquisite preservation, with hardly any marks present on the crisply struck devices.
