<B>1936-D 50C Arkansas MS67 PCGS.</B></I> Artist Emily Bates crafted the models for the Arkansas commemoratives after designs rendered by Edward Everett Burr, a man who was born in Ohio, moved to Arkansas as a child, and found his life's work in Chicago, where he had received formal training. His collected papers are in the possession of the University of Arkansas Libraries, Special Collections. This exquisitely preserved half dates to the year of the actual centennial, 1936. The obverse has a grand orange-russet crescent centered at the lower left, while silver-gray patina covers the remainder of the coin.
