1936<5C> Type One--Satin Finish PR68 PCGS. An amazing and impeccable Gem Proof example with satiny luster, reminiscent of the earlier Matte Proof issues from 1913 to 1916. As the Mint once again began producing Proofs in 1936, the struck a number of satiny Lincoln Cents and Buffalo Nickels before resuming the brilliant finish used through the end of the Liberty Head nickel series in 1912. It is these satin finish Proof examples that have become favorites with many collectors today. In the highest grades, the overall aesthetic appeal can't be beat. Although one finer example of this variety has been certified by PCGS, this lovely coin will certainly provide for pride of ownership once it crosses the auction block.
