<B>1936 50C PR65 PCGS.</B></I> The Mint made proof singles available to collectors in 1936, though the solo proof half proved unpopular; of the 3,901 specimens in the net mintage, 3,837 appeared in sets. Whichever route it took out of the Mint, this Gem is a well-preserved example of the first Walker proof issue. The strike is bold, and the fields have modest reflectivity beneath pearl-gray patina that has a touch of gold.
