<B>1936 50C PR64 PCGS.</B></I> Bruce Fox (1993) writes of the 1936 proof halves: "All proofs of 1936 were made with the second hub, featuring large stars and incised gown details at Liberty's neck. Finishes are brilliant and lack frosted devices." The near-Gem specimen in this lot fits the profile presented by Fox in that the design elements are razor sharp throughout, not just the gown lines. Slight field-motif contrast is noted, somewhat more on the obverse.
