1936 50C Long Island MS67 NGC. William and Charles Barber were not the only father-and-son pair to work on U.S. coinage; two decades after Adolph Weinman's dime and half dollar designs went into circulation, Howard Kenneth Weinman, Adolph's son, saw his Long Island design released to collectors. Unlike most examples of this often-satiny issue, this Superb Gem has strong, frosty luster. The surfaces exhibit dappled olive-gold, orange, sea-green, and lavender patina. NGC has graded a mere seven coins in MS67 and just two pieces in MS68 (3/07).
From The Cary & Cheryl Porter Collection.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
