1936 1C Type Two--Brilliant Finish PR66 Red NGC.
1936<1C> Type Two--Brilliant Finish PR66 Red NGC. The first proof Lincoln cent officially produced since 1916, the 1936 is a rare coin relative both to the number of collectors in today's hobby who require an example and the number of available specimens from later dates in this series. It is believed that far fewer of the 5,569 proof cents struck this year were of the Type Two, Brilliant Finish variety. This is a uniformly mirrored representative with fulsome orange-red luster and a smooth looking texture. There is not a single outwardly distracting blemish, and the eye appeal is expectantly strong for the premium quality Gem grade. Light, barely perceptible hazy patina thinly blankets each side. Census: 20 in 66, 2 finer (7/06).
