1936<1C> Type Two--Brilliant Finish PR65 Red and Brown NGC. The first proof Lincoln Cent officially produced since 1916, the 1936 is a rare coin relative to the number of collectors in today's hobby who require an example. It is believed that far fewer of the 5,569 proof Cents delivered this year were of the Type Two, Brilliant Finish variety. Its extra brilliant finish contrasts with the Type One Satin Finish. This example displays deep orange-gold patination with splashes of lime-green. The design elements are well impressed. Just a few tiny flecks are noted on each side. Census: 83 in 65, 21 finer (11/05).
