1936 1C Type Two--Brilliant Finish PR65 Red NGC.
1936<1C> Type Two--Brilliant Finish PR65 Red NGC. The first proof Lincoln Cent officially produced since 1916, the 1936 is a rare coin relative to the number of collectors in today's hobby who require an example. It is believed that far fewer of the 5,569 proof Cents delivered this year were of the Type Two, Brilliant Finish variety. Its extra brilliant finish contrasts with the Type One Satin Finish. On this specimen, the rich orange centers are framed by lighter straw-gold color. A meticulously struck and prominently mirrored Gem. Carbon flecks are infrequent, and there are no mentionable contact marks. This piece generates great overall eye appeal. Only 24 pieces have been graded finer by NGC (4/05).
