1936 10C PR66 PCGS. Ex: Whiteford Collection. Although the type had been in use since 1916, the first proof Mercury Dimes were not prepared until 1936. The original mintage of 4,130 pieces is the lowest in the 1936-1942 proof Mercury Dime series, and the 1936 enjoys unflagging demand from specialists. Clearly a superior representative, both sides are uniform in brilliance with a light overlay of more or less even golden-tan iridescence that appears to deepen toward the borders. Grade-limiting blemishes? There are none, and the eye appeal is all that one would expect for a flashy, original Mercury Dime at the PR66 level. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
