1935 New York Yankees Uniform Player's Contracts
1935 New York Yankees Uniform Player's Contracts Lot of 7. Fully executed contracts secured the services of seven ballplayers for the pre-war Yanks. Each contract is in standard format with typed or handwritten entries for player name, address and salary, which ranges from a low of $2,500 to a high of $12,000 for outfielder Ben Chapman, who oddly took up pitching at the close of his fifteen season career. The other new hires: George Selkirk, Fred Walker, Jesse Hill, Marvin Duke, Arthur Fletcher and Myril Hoag. Each has signed his consent to the terms of his contract, as have American League president William Harridge and Yankee team owner (secretarially signed by Ed Barrow). Also here is an eighth contract for the Oakland Oaks of the Pacific Coast League for Bernard Uhalt, Jr. All ink is 9/10 or better, and contracts exhibit original storage folds but no other condition issues. Be sure to see the other contemporary New York Yankees contracts also offered within this auction. LOA from PSA/DNA.
