1935 50C Connecticut MS67 PCGS. While Liberty has taken many varied forms on American commemoratives, the Connecticut distinguishes itself by associating that name with a plant. The history of the Charter Oak and its link to the national spirit is sufficiently strong, however, that even those numismatists who decry the careless use of "LIBERTY" as "just another statutory inscription" give the design a pass. The surfaces of this Superb Gem are highly lustrous with a touch of frost. Bands of orange toning grace the obverse periphery and the upper reverse. Solidly struck, save for the highpoints of the eagle, and carefully preserved. PCGS has graded a single coin finer (3/07).
From The Cary & Cheryl Porter Collection.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
