The five-year Arkansas and Boone types provided the eight lowest mintage varieties in the Silver Commemorative series. Collectors who wanted more than three varieties of 1935 Boone Halves must have pleased when a new trio was offered with 1934 added to the reverse field above PIONEER YEAR. Just 2,004 1935/34-S Boone Halves were struck. Depression-era collectors were inundated with Silver Commemorative Half Dollar issues in 1935 and 1936, the peak two years of the series.
