<B>1934-S 50C MS65 PCGS.</B></I> The 1934-S is one of the scarcest issues in the 1934-47 so-called "short set" of Walking Liberty half dollars. It is also difficult to obtain with a sharp strike. The example offered in the present lot exhibits a better-than-average strike, as illustrated by strong definition on Liberty's head, the thumb and adjacent branches, and the gown lines. Both sides exude radiant luster, and display occasional whispers of barely discernible gold color. A lengthy shallow scratch in the right obverse field and an abrasion on Liberty's neck are mentioned for complete accuracy.<BR><BR><B>Coin Engraver:</B> Adolph A.
