1934 Babe Ruth, Tris Speaker and More Signed Baseball. Our consignor reports that this baseball was passed down to him with the story that it derived from a Toronto banquet recognizing Babe Ruth's 700th home run, and the twentieth anniversary of his first professional homer as a pitcher for the Providence Grays in an International League meeting with the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Babe (2/10) was forced to a side panel position by the stern Kenesaw Mountain Landis (9/10), who claimed Ruth's customary sweet spot position before the Babe got his hands on this Official National League ball. Other titans of the diamond who turned out to honor the Babe's long ball legacy include Speaker (7/10), Mack (8/10), Giles (6/10), Rickey (9/10) and Cleveland Indians manager Steve O'Neill. Seventeen autographs are here in total, with the balance mainly representatives of the International League, and tending toward the higher end of the boldness scale. A light coating of shellac has given the ball an amber tone but has served its intended purpose well. LOA from PSA/DNA.
