One of the hobby's most collected sets is this multi-sport issue from Goudey Gum. The "Sport Kings" set featured a wide range of sporting stars, and today enjoy high prices and extreme collectability. Many cards in the set feature personalities from the Golden Age of Sports, a period in the 1920s that saw the rise of larger-than-life sporting athletes. This came about thanks to the emergence of print media, radio, and several prominent sports writers who penned eloquent essays about their subjects. Howie Morenz, Babe Ruth, Bobby Jones, Red Grange, and others were among the legends seeded and nurtured by writers such as Grantland Rice, Damon Runyon and others.

"Big" Bill Tilden was the greatest Tennis star of the 1920s, winning 14 Major singles titles, including 10 Grand Slam events, one World Hard Court Championships and three professional majors. He was the first American man to win Wimbledon (1920) and also won a record seven U.S. Championships titles. Tilden dominated the world of international tennis in the first half of the 1920s, and during his 20-year amateur period from 1911 to 1930, won 138 of 192 tournaments he entered.

This one grades a nice 3 VG by PSA!
