<B>1933 Montana Dollar, HK-820, MS62 NGC.</B></I> Silver, 39.7 mm. This medal was issued as a tangible membership card for members of the Montana Silver Association, a group that strongly supported the expanded use of silver for commercial and U.S. monetary uses. Although it is believed that 2,225 pieces were ordered struck, a smaller amount was probably issued, with many melted before being released. Hibler-Kappen (1963) state that "substantially fewer than 100 specimens are extant today." Well struck details with lightly abraded surfaces define the grade of this Uncirculated example.
