Featured in this lot is this 1933 first edition of "Dolls On Display: Japan In Miniature" by G. Craiger, printed in Tokyo, Japan by The Hokuseido Press. The book is a detailed commentary on the Girls Festival and the Boys Festival and features over 80 black and white photos and three colored, fold-out prints covered with tissue gaurds. The book shows photos of famous miniature dolls of prominent people or items of the time and gives extensive detail into what they are. The book is bound in gorgeous purple silk set on a backboard with a red paper title block and features silk ribbon ties on the edge of the spine. The original colophon is mounted at the end of the book. The book comes in a protective, first edition case showing colors of grey and white and features the title on the front on a white paper title block with red lettering. Overall the book shows great condition with no signs of wear or damage present. The case shows slight wear from its age and years of use, but no obvious signs of damage are present. The book measures 10 1/2" L x 7 1/2" W x 5/8" D. While in the protective case it measures 11" L x 7 3/4" W x 15/16" D and weighs approximately 2 pounds and 2 ounces.
