<B>1932 Los Angeles Summer Olympics Flag.</B></I> Fantastically preserved banner once welcomed spectators to the famed 1932 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, the second installment of this international competition to be held within the borders of the United States. With massive dimensions (204x42") to match its historic importance and collecting appeal, this banner most likely spanned a large archway to announce, "Welcome, Citius, Fortius, Altius, Olympic Games, Los Angeles, Visitors." The banner is fashioned from eleven pieces of fabric in the colors of the Olympic rings, with golden fringe running the lower edges. Typical age toning is to be noted, but the stunning piece is absent the staining and tearing so often found in textiles of this vintage. A couple of the seams have been professionally reinforced, but this is only evident when viewed from verso.
