1932-D Washington 25C PCGS MS64
The isolation of the '32-D as the only Denver Mint Quarter delivered from 1930 through 1933 explains why it is the chief rarity of the Washington type in all grades. Since there was no need for new Quarters in commercial channels by 1932, most of the examples delivered that year were probably placed directly into circulation with little fanfare. The fact that most survivors grade Good-Fine supports this theory of widespread circulation for the '32-D. A limited original mintage of fewer than 500,000 pieces only increases the difficulty that one may encounter in locating a Gem Mint State 65 survivor.

We cannot overstate the importance of this attractive MS64 for Washington quarter collectors. The surfaces are fairly lustrous beneath delicate, all-original toned iridescence. A satiny-to-softly frosted milky gray sheen is seen throughout, but wispy abrasions are few in number and very far between. (#5791)
