For those familiar with the George V series of quarters, 1932 is known to be a scarce year that becomes a challenge to find in gem grades. A superb gem in MS-66 appears in the market every so often with the trifecta of luster, strike, and minimal contact, though few do so as well as this example.

This piece is superior in every way, with such outstanding eye appeal that is rarely encountered or rivaled. The toning makes this a dream coin: a swirling array of forest and sea greens blend seamlessly into an array of light orange tones on the obverse, while a similar mixture of greens envelop the reverse with hints of blue and purple occasionally appearing throughout the fields of both sides. The luster is full and makes the toning shine, while the strike is above average with strongly defined details and rim denticles. Topping off this coin are surfaces that are essentially mark-free, pushing the technical grade of this coin well into superb gem grade and ever so close to MS-67.

We strongly consider this piece to be one of the finest surviving George V 25¢ that one could possibly obtain, and we doubt that a nicer 1932 quarter in terms of overall quality will ever surface. This is a rare opportunity for registry set collectors seeking to add a superior example to their collections, and we encourage prospective bidders to consider how many years may pass before a similar example crosses the auction block.
