1931-S 1C MS66 Red and Brown NGC. David Lange (2005), discussing the 1931-S cents, writes: "Mint State coins of average to choice quality are readily available due to widespread hoarding during the early 1930s. Gems are more elusive, since these hoarded coins were subject to poor storage methods and environmental hazards. In addition, most have less than perfect strikes." This Premium Gem displays considerable mint orange imbued with whispers of light tan. The design elements were subjected to a better-than-average strike, though some softness is noted in Lincoln's hair and beard. The grains and lines of the wheat stalks, on the other hand, are clearly defined. A few light flecks are visible on the obverse.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
